Eat Pastry: Delicious, Ready-To-Bake Vegan Cookie Dough
I love baking. I dig having the baking sheets oiled and waiting, the measuring cups stacked up, the spatulas busily transferring hot products to the cooling racks, and having bowls and beaters to sneak remnants of the recipe from.
But every once in awhile, it's nice to keep things sweet and simple. This idea must be understood by the fabulous Eat Pastry company, because they have introduced some delectable ready-to-bake vegan cookie dough that will get your kitchen smelling yummy and keep your friends and family smiling.
I picked up three of their flavors at Whole Foods the other day and we have been enjoying them on constant rotation since.
Eat Pastry was the brainchild of "two chefs who met in pastry school and have been in love ever since." Their dough contains organic and fair trade sugar, no eggs, no dairy, no preservatives, no processing, no fillers, and no GMOs.
It is, of course, super easy to prepare. Just pop open one of their cute containers (with rad typography gracing the label), spoon the dough onto greased cookie sheet, flatten with a spoon, bake for 12-15 minutes and VOILA!...scrumptiousness in a snap...vegan style!
They offer these fantastic varieties:
- Chocolate Chunk
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
- Chocoholic Chunk
- Cinnamon Ginger Spice
- Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip
You can currently find Eat Pastry at Wholefoods Markets, Mother's Market & Kitchen, Nature's Mart, Wholesome Choice, Co Opportunity, Erewhon, PC Greens, Rainbow Acres and a few other locations in Southern Cali (soon to be in NoCal), but send them a note and let them know how divine their cookies sound and that you want them in your area as soon as they can arrange it.
Oh, and the bonus deal-io with Eat Pastry is that since there are no animal products in the ingredients, the raw dough is totally safe to eat straight from the jar (which is sometimes even better than the puffy baked version, don't ya think?) =)
