Tofu-Loving Vegan's License Plate Deemed X-Rated
Kelly Coffman-Lee is a vegan who wanted to proclaim her commitment to the bean curd yumminess on her license plate, but the DMV in Colorado denied her request because they were worried that the combo of letters Kelly chose could be misconstrued for something else altogether.
Coffman-Lee said she intended the plate to say “I-LV-TOFU,” but officials worried it could be read as “I-LV-TO-F-U.” Oh, poor tofu; dissed again.
If you were behind her car at a light, how would you read it?

lmao thats too funny!!!!
OMG!! This is so funny! A great case of "D"ummies "M"isunderstanding a "V"egan
Much love to all! :)
that is very funny.
How Funny!!!
I'm willing to bet the car is a Subaru... i live in colorado and I'm vegan but it's really stupid how people come up with such retarded ideas -who cares if you love tofu -just take the damn plate they issue and stop taking your vegan lifestyle so serious
The plate was a really cute and fun idea!
TO QUOTE ANOTHER POSTER: "just take the damn plate they issue and stop taking your vegan lifestyle so serious" .... MY RESPONSE: ah, words reflecting the bland and unexciting sector of society LOL
i think i would read it as F-U not tofu. i think the dmv is in the right to deny this license plate even though the intent behind it is wholesome. now she will just have to get even more creative if she wants to express her lifestyle on her car!
Perhaps this says something about me, but I would have read it as F-U too. Still, it is, in my opinion, wrong for it to be censored. So what if the driver of that car wants to F me. I consider that a compliment. :-)
Funny! I think I would read it fu also. =\ If she is dead set on it, why not try tofulvr or the like?
Hi, nice to meet you kk
