Text Often? Try 217,000 Times a Month Like These Two
Our daughter, Brynn, is a texting machine. She texts fast and frequently. But I might have to cut her some slack after reading about two Philadelphia men who spent the majority of the month of March texting so voraciously that they may have broken the world record for the most texts made in one month. The two friends got the idea when Nick Andes, 29, read online that the current record was held by a man in India, who had sent 182,000 texts in 2005.
According to the Associated Press, Andes and Doug Klinger, 30, traded 217,000 texts between the two of them; resulting in a $26,000 bill from T-Mobile. Andes believed he had an unlimited texting plan and was shocked when the book-like bill (so big that it cost $27.55 to mail it to him) arrived. Since the bill scare, his phone company has credited his account. Whew!
Though most messages were short (ie: LOL, hi, etc.), they still managed to fire off one hell of a texting arsenal; as Klinger sent approximately 70,000 and Andes 140,000. Wow, talk about tired thumbs!
