June 9: On This Day in 1934 - Donald Duck Was Born

June 9, 1934: On this day, Donald Duck was born when he made is debut in the Silly Symphony cartoon, "The Wise Little Hen." Donald is one of the most familiar and popular Disney characters, racking up 128 Donald Duck cartoons over the years, as well as numerous appearances in many other cartoons with Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Goofy.

Donald's original voice came from Clarence "Ducky" Nash, who was succeeded after 50 years by Disney artist Tony Anselmo. His full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck.

Donald Duck (ドナルドダック, Donarudo Daku) is a major character in the Kingdom Hearts series. He and Goofy are the two sidekicks of Sora and Donald is the court wizard of Disney Castle.
