Howard Zinn: A Simple Tribute to a Brilliant Mind
The world lost a brilliant mind and powerful force yesterday with the passing of author, teacher and political activist, Howard Zinn. I have learned so much from this man, who instilled the importance of learning, awareness, activism, and dissent.
As Noam Chomsky said of his friend, "I can’t think of anyone who had such a powerful and benign influence...his historical work changed the way millions of people saw the past."
Mr. Zinn, you will be missed.

Howard Zinn was the real deal.
I would happily trade 5 Obamas, 5 Clintons, and 5 Kennedys for 1 Howard Zinn.
Dood, J.D. Salinger died too...?? We are losing the good ones...
Great tribute Jinxi!
YESS!!! Jinxi, you are great.
Howard Zinn is milestone for all.It might be better to state that the USA is going from empire to dictatorship. No, there is no such a thing as benevolent "big government", with all due respect to Mr. Zinn -- it's a fairy tale, a chimaera. What this country needs is a much smaller government and more power to the states and people.
