Press Release: Miss California & NOFM's "No Offense" Campaign
U.S. News & World Report reported that tomorrow (April 30, 2009) Miss California, Carrie Prejean, will be publicly announcing her involvement with the National Organization for Marriage and their "No Offense" campaign. Prejean believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman and declared this during the Miss USA Pageant (video here). Why am I not surprised at this PR path she has chosen? What do you think?
Below is the Press Release from NOFM.

I will check with Jinxi about setting up a forum that we can transfer this topic to. As for what the other translations say, I am well aware that most of the translations have been altered to include homosexuality in them. However, in my opinion, all of them are simply versions of the "original" and have all been altered to reflect the view of the people who translated them. I mean, come on, a footnote? There were no footnotes in the OG version. You can follow the version you want to, but at least admit that it is has been translated to mean what the translator wanted it to say. The word homosexual did not exist for many many centuries after the NT and thousands of years after the OT.
The bottom line here is that you are following the word of man, not the word of a "god"
If you could read Hebrew and were quoting the Talmud to me, then I may think differently as far as what was intended by the writings. IMHO the NIV (as well as the others) has no more authority than does a Harry Potter book, both written or translated by humans.

Just so that you know, the Abraham killing his son thing was not the reason that God agreed to spare every man, woman and child in Canaan. It was because Abraham bartered with god. God agree to not destroy everything if Abraham could find 10 (10 after the bartering it down from 50) righteous people in Sodom. Just wanted to clear that up.
@ =) where did you go. I thought you were going to school me on this stuff.
