John Hughes Tribute: Vote for Your Favorite Film
I am so sad to hear about the death of John Hughes today. He was such a brilliant writer and director. Half of my "favorite films" list includes his works. He will definitely be missed.

Great post, I can't believe Some Kind of Wonderful isn't a bit higher. I also adore Pretty in Pink (Ducky is amazing) but Some Kind of Wonderful had the better ending.
John Hughes made so many films that I will remember forever, and the soundtracks to these films...oh my goodness! When I hear those songs it brings back a flood of memories from my youth. He will be greatly missed.:( R.I.P. Mr. Hughes
Thank you for this tribute! He truly deserves some recognition. I loved how John Hughes remembered what it is like to be a teenager who is working to transform into an adult. He understood what it is all about, and took you there with an adventurous spirit. I would probably be a completely different person today if not for John Hughes. I probably would not have found the love for myself that I have without him sharing his perspective.
One of my all-time favorite scenes is in "Weird Science" where LaBrock's character (Lisa) tells Gary's parents what is UP!
He was an outstanding storyteller and really could relate to what it felt like to be a teen. As parents we need to rewatch some of those movies and remember the struggles of adolescence. It might help us relate to our own children better. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Hughes.
